Which Furusato raised you?

Junkan is an independent zine published by Japanese college students with a focus on agricultural practices in rural Japan and the communal emphasis on hometown community.

I had the pleasure of illustrating the cover for VOL.2, which juxtaposes two strikingly different community of women—the Japanese gyaru culture in Shibuya, Tokyo, and women in agriculture in rural Japan.

Junkan Vol.2 was awarded the Bronze Award and Jury’s Award at SFA 2023
